Autumn Favourites

Hello again!

First of all, I'm really sorry I've been so absent from blogging, the last few months have been really stressful but I'm going to make an effort now to start keeping up to date with my blog! In september my boyfriend and I finally made the big move from Newcastle, after 4 years there, to London. It's been equal parts exciting and stressful but we've finally got our flat sorted and have properly settled in. Anyway, hopefully this means now I can focus on blogging more! I really do appreciate every single person who clicks on my blog and reads my posts, so I'm definitely going to make more of an effort to be active on here :)

Anyway, let's get into all the things I've been loving this Autumn! I've picked various things I've been loving from clothing to skincare, to film and shops so be prepared it may be a long post!

1. Joanie Clothing

Joanie clothing recently launched a couple of months ago and Ive been completely obsessed ever since. As soon as I saw a few bloggers sporting their amazing jumpers, I knew I had to snap them up straight away. Their site is absolutely gorgeous and be warned once you start scrolling through their incredible dresses you might end up with the entire collection in your online basket! I love the retro and vintage feel to all their clothes but also, how they manage to put a modern spin on everything. The quality of all their pieces is really impressive. For such an affordable brand, the quality is amazing and I'm completely in love with everything I've purchased from them. Their range of sizes is also amazing so they really do cater to all types of women which is so nice to see. Firstly, I snapped up these two appliqué jumpers. Just look at them!! They are absolutely gorgeous, fit amazingly, are super soft and just about go with anything whilst adding a pop to any outfit. I team them up with high waisted jeans or a black A line skirt and they look incredible. Next I picked up the Zooey dress which I've had my eye on for soooo long. Honestly it's as if I had designed it myself. The detailing, fit and quality of the dress for only £35 is just incredible. The embroidery on the collar, the pleating, the tie at the back- 10/10 Joanie, thank you for bringing this into my life. And it's the perfect length! I cannot tell you how many dresses I love but have to send back because they're just too short on me but this one is perfect, so from tall girls everywhere thank you!

Also the lovely people at Joanie clothing named me their Miss October and very kindly gave me a £50 gift voucher!! I was so over the moon and couldn't believe it, since I never normally win anything! I've had my eye on a few dresses for a while so they may be purchased with the voucher very soon. So if you buy anything off their site do take a snap and use the hashtag #joaniegal and you could get your hands on a £50 voucher too! Annnnd, the girls at Joanie have asked me to work with them on something sooooo so exciting, so watch this space (I honestly can't tell you how excited I am for this, eeek!).

2. Lancome Skincare

I think I've mentioned my love for this skincare range before, but honestly this has been a life saver this Autumn. As the weather starts to turn colder my skin can become more dry and look dehydrated but this range has seriously kept my skin so glowy! The entire Hydra Zen range is just unreal. I use the moisturiser everyday and it is the perfect base for make up, is intensely moisturising without being heavy and is amazing on all skin types, even the most sensitive. I use the serum-in-mask every night underneath the night cream and honestly every morning my skin looks so plump, glowy and feels baby soft. I know it's a bit of a splurge but honestly investing in good skin care is so important, so if you fancy treating yourself I would give this a try because it's worked wonders for me (you can always be cheeky and ask for a sample at a Lancome counter!).

3. Benefit's eyebrow range

Ok, these products are an absolute game changer. To me brow products are THE most important items in my make-up bag. Yes, my beloved black eyeliner has to come second place because having good brows, to me, is the base of your entire make up look. I am cursed with horrific brows. Sparse, pale, gappy, thin- honestly they're pretty much non existent but behold, I have searched far and wide and have finally found the holy grail eyebrow products! Benefit launched a whole new eyebrow range earlier this year and straight away I knew I needed to try it- if only for the cute packaging! The precisely my brow pencil (shade 3) is honestly the best pencil I've used- even better than the Anastasia brow wiz! It is so fine that I can fill in all my sparse areas easily while still letting them look natural. The colour is absolutely perfect, you can really build it up too with light strokes and it lasts all day. Top that off with Benefit's gimme brow (also shade 3) and no one would know that I'm seriously lacking in the brow department! I am completely obsessed with this product and think every single girl out there needs it! It's basically a tinted brow gel that thickens, colours, shapes your brows while still making them look natural and sets your brows in place all day. Since I have quite pale brows, this is amazing to run through all my brow hairs and darken them while still looking completely natural. It really does give you amazingly thick and full brows so if you're on the hunt for some new brow products I highly recommend these two.

4. The Courteeners

I thought I'd throw in a band that I've been loving this Autumn. Obviously I've loved The Courteeners for years, but their new album 'Mapping the Rendezvous' is just so good. Check out Modern Love, De La Salle and Lucifer's dream- but the entire album is pretty amazing. I ordered a signed copy of the vinyl so I'm waiting until my mam visits in a week or so to finally get my hands on it since I messed up the delivery address (oops). My boyfriend and I also went to see them last week at the O2 Academy in Brixton and honestly I think they have to be my favourite live band of all time. No matter how many times I've seen them live they somehow manage to get better and better every time and it was one of the best gigs I've been to in a while. Let's face it, everyone loves Liam Fray and I'm so tempted to get tickets to their next stadium gig in the summer....

5. Biscuiteers

I'm sure loads of you will have seen bloggers receiving these incredible iced biscuits- I think Zoella gave bloggers boxes of biscuits shaped like her new beauty products- but I'd never been in one of their shops before. Now I'm in London, I'm lucky enough to have a Biscuiteers shop on my doorstep and it just as incredible as I'd hoped. They make the most gorgeous (and delicious) iced biscuits which can be personalised and come in basically any style or shape you can image (their new christmas range is to die for!). Recently for our 4 year anniversary, my boyfriend and I both ended up getting personalised biscuits from here (great minds ey) and I just think they make the most amazing gift to give to loved ones. They come boxed beautifully, the icing is so detailed and gorgeous and although they almost look too good to eat, they are some of the tastiest biscuits I've tried. I think you can order personalised biscuits online too so I'd definitely check them out if your looking for a unique christmas gift because let's face it, who wouldn't want a box or beautiful iced biscuits under their tree?

6. Room

We've recently signed up to Amazon prime, so are taking full advantage of all the amazing movies you can watch for free on it. I'd heard about room after it received a lot of awards at the beginning of the year, but just never got round to watching it. So when I saw it on Amazon prime we thought we'd give it a watch. Honestly, it is one of the best films I have seen in such a long time. It was gripping, heart breaking, sometimes funny and just all round incredible from start to finish. The acting was unreal, especially from the young actor who played Jacob and although the plot was very dark, the way it was revealed to the audience through the eyes of a child was so clever and added some lightheartedness to such a sinister topic. I'll not give away any spoilers but one of the key scenes in the film was one of the most heart wrenching things I've ever seen, to the point where we were both sat upright almost shouting at the scream (you'll know what I mean if you've seen it). Anyway please go and give it a watch because you won't be disappointed!

7. Supersonic

This was honestly the best documentary I've seen hands down. I, like so many others, completely adore Oasis and I feel like this documentary really summed up why they are loved by so many people (and why in my eyes, a reunion just isn't needed!). The whole vibe of the film really showed off their charm and wit whilst being packed full of nostalgia from an era that has sadly gone now (imagine just how many phones would be held up at knebworth now...). It was so intimate and conversational and was absolutely hilarious throughout. It really gave you a feel of what the atmosphere must have been like in the 90's at one of their gigs, especially knebworth which just looked unbelievable. I just completely loved it and found it so interesting since I didn't actually know that much about the background of how the band started out. If you're an Oasis fan or even just a music fan it's an absolute must see, it'll make you love the Gallagher's even more once you've seen it.

8. Chanel eyeshadow quad (Les 4 Ombres)

Just look at it. Warm toned browns, all matte, buttery soft and all wrapped in Chanel packaging- what more could you possibly want! I'd managed to save up quite a few boots points and decided I would treat myself to this and I'm so glad I did. I think I've used this pretty much every day since I bought it. The shadows are so pigmented but also super blendable and last all day so there's no need to use a lid primer. They really are the perfect autumnal shades and although the red does look a bit scary, it looks amazing blended into the crease and the beigey, caramel shade is the perfect everyday eyeshadow to add some definition to the eye while still looking natural. I think it may have been limited edition but if you can try and get your hands on it, I would definitely recommend it!

So that's some of the things I've been loving this Autumn, please let me know some of the things you've been loving , or if you have any ideas or suggestions about future blog posts!
