Welcome to my blog Retro Wanderlust.
Firstly, a bit about myself! I'm a 22 year old cat eye obsessed, music loving, red lipstick hoarding, shoe-a-holic with a desire to travel the world. My passions lie in all things fashion, beauty, travel and music, so i've created this blog to write about the things I love.
I am definitely one of those girls born in the wrong era, and yearn for the days of the swinging sixties. So naturally I have an unhealthy obsession with staring at pictures of audrey Hepburn, Anna Karina, Brigitte Bardot and hoping that one day I will magically possess their wardrobe, perfect hair and legs. Not to mention Alexa Chung, who’s hair and cat eye flick are the ultimate dream. But for now I have settled with taking inspiration from the 'it' girls of the sixties and today and attempt to encapsulate the essence of their style.
I adore music. I learnt guitar at age 12 and from then on my adoration for music, from bob dylan, to the arctic monkeys to the Beatles and the Kinks, has grown. I love hunting down old records and going to gigs- I challenge anyone to hear 60,000 people singing don't look back in anger back at Noel Gallagher and not have that 'Oh my god' moment and goosebumps all over.
As for travel, I love exploring new places. The ultimate dream is to live in New York, but for now i'll settle with Newcastle whilst booking as many city breaks as I can afford to cram in a year. The dream is to travel round Italy (mainly stuffing my face with pizza and pasta!) and of course the USA- a route 66 road trip needs to happen!
Basically i'm your average 20 something who is addicted to lipstick, spends far too much money in Topshop and loves good food, good music and a good vintage shop. I've always wanted to start a blog so I can ramble on about the things I love so I finally took the plunge and created this blog. I hope you enjoy!
